Example content may include:
• Statement of teaching philosophy
• Course teaching history
• Sample course policies
• Sample course syllabi
• Sample assessments
• Sample activities
• Sample online/computer mediated activities
• Sample presentations
• Sample course effectiveness assessment activities
Pursuant to NEASC standards, this section of the Portfolio will contain materials to document:
• Effective instruction (5.7)
• Evaluation of students performance (5.7)
• Demonstration of the ability to effectively carry out Faculty responsibilities (5.10)
• Faculty assumption of the responsibilities that the content and methods of instruction are consistent with accepted academic and professional standards (5.11)
• Methods of instruction are appropriate to the students' capabilities and learning needs and effectiveness of instruction is periodically assessed (5.16)
Advising
This category will provide documentation of material related to academic advising.
Example content may include:
• Advisee lists
• Sample advising meeting lists
• Statement of advising philosophy, approaches, and methods
Pursuant to NEASC standards, this section of the Portfolio will contain materials to document:
• Faculty are adequately informed and prepared to advise their students (5.17)
College Service
This category will provide documentation of material related to Faculty service to the College and College-related initiatives.
Example content may include:
• Documentation of participation in institutional assessment
• Documentation of grade reports, warnings, and other reports
• Copies of professional licenses and certifications
• Documentation of attendance of College-sponsored staff development
Pursuant to NEASC standards, this section of the Portfolio will contain materials to document:
• A copy of the official Faculty or Adjunct Faculty Job description in order to provide a clear definition of Part-time, Full-time, and Adjunct positions (5.1)
• Preparation and qualification appropriate for their field and assignments (5.2)
• Contribute to program and institutional assessment (5.7)
• Continued professional growth (5.7)
Committee Work
This category will provide documentation of material related to Faculty service on committees.
Example content may include:
• Documents produced by the committee that explicate Faculty involvement
Professional Development
This category will provide documentation of material related to Faculty professional development.
Example content may include:
• Documentation certificates, licenses, degrees, courses, and other professional activities
• Documentation of attendance at conferences and trade/profession related professional organizations
• Documentation of membership in professional organizations
• Documentation of personal scholarship and learning
Pursuant to NEASC standards, this section of the Portfolio will contain materials to document:
• Preparation and qualification appropriate for their field and assignments (5.2)
• Continued professional growth (5.7)
• Participate in scholarship, research, creative activities, and/or service (5.7)
• Faculty assume the responsibility that the content and methods of instruction are consistent with accepted academic and professional standards (5.11)
• Institution offers opportunity for continued professional development (5.12)
• All faculty pursue scholarship designed to ensure they are current in the theory, knowledge, skills, and pedagogy of their discipline or profession (5.19)
• Scholarship, research, creative activities, (and service) are encourages and supported (5.21)
Community Service
This category will provide documentation of material related to Faculty participation in community service.
Example content may include:
• Documentation of personal participation in community, political, and/or civic organizations/events/initiatives outside of the college community
• Documentation of the incorporation of service into the academic curriculum through Service-Learning
